HeadCoach has been the dream of Jonathon for quite a few years. Jon is a UEFA qualified Coach who has had lots of experience from working in Northern Ireland, England, China, Canada and the US. Throughout his journey, particularly while working with youth players, Jon could see that there was a desperate need for training sports brains in Emotional Intelligence. As there was no recognised system Jon set about developing his own processes. It was paper and pen to start with, but what Jon did prove was that he had a unique model that worked.
Things started to come together when talking about the problem with his childhood friend, Eoin. Eoin had carved out a career in marketing for a successful start up. Eoin was excited by the idea and enthusiastically embarked on developing a no-code version as the Minimum Viable Product. At the same time Jon was talking the model through with a colleague and friend, Joe, a prominent psychologist specializing in both business and sports. With Joe's scientific knowledge and Jon's coaching knowledge, they together refined the model. There was now a way that the scientific concepts of Emotional Intelligence could be married with the practical training methods, and would relate to players and athletes of any sport in any country.
Throughout the development of HeadCoach the team have stayed true to the fundamental aspect of HeadCoach – it is a tool to train the brain for resilience, concentration, and composure in the intensity of competition. Positioned as a fitness tool akin to treadmills and bikes, HeadCoach is designed to enhance mental capabilities and to contribute to overall physical well-being. Using HeadCoach develops strong mental wellbeing which help prevent issues later in life.
